If you’re looking for an amazing resort getaway that has it all, look no further than the Greenbrier Resort. Who knew you could find an elegant resort with surprisingly interesting decor nestled in the hills of West Virginia. We live just a few hours from this gem and it is a favorite weekend getaway spot for us and our family.

Check-in started our luxurious weekend with glasses of complimentary champagne and gift bags for our adorable children. There is nothing like feeling like the vacation starts the second you set foot inside the door!.
One of our favorite parts of the Greenbrier is the immersive decor. The decor could be described in a lot of ways, including LOUD, floral, and fabulous, but the main descriptor has to be unique. The decor at the Greenbrier is a whole experience! It was initially curated by famed designer by Dorothy Draper.

Throughout the resort you will find varying brightly colored florals and flooring, as well as wild wallpaper. There is certainly nothing bland or boring about the way this resort looks.

Besides being visually interesting, this resort is full of activities and things to do. There are so many activities they cannot all be included here, but here is a sampling.

We have personally done falconry, indoor and outdoor swimming, tennis, golf, fitness, casino, arcade, bowling, horseback riding, and many more. None of the activities disappoint! Although we haven’t had the opportunity to use it, there is a kids club to take the kids to as well.
The Greenbrier has tons of shops to look in as well. There are 35 shops with designer clothing and shoes for adults and kids, including a Ralph Lauren store, a children’s boutique, and a shoe store! There is a toy store, candy shop, Greenbrier branded shop, pro shops, a home store, and many more. We utilize the shops every time we go. This last time we forgot a part of our daughter’s swim suit and we got her a new one in the children’s boutique!
There are tons of onsite dining opportunities as well. We love to get buffet breakfast in the main dining room and have lunch at Draper’s. You can’t miss out on Drapers ice cream that is made in house. Our favorite dinner location is Prime 44. They have delicious steaks here, but one of our favorite items is the tableside-made ceasar salad!
