Weekend Trip -Land o’Lakes (Chautaqua and Conneaut to be exact) Part 2

Upon arriving back at Chautauqua Lake we decided to head back to Bemus Point because it seemed to be the most “touristy” spot on the lake. It was getting close to dinner so we perused Trip Advisor to find the best local spot. Our primary goals were 1. Outdoor Dining and 2. Lake views. We settled on a local brewery. We followed the GPS to the brewery. Just as we started looking for a parking spot we laid eyes upon another restaurant called The Fish. The Fish was everything we are looking for in a vacation restaurant: great views from inside and outside, direct waterfront location, and menu that suits all 3 of us! The brewery had a great looking menu too and some views, but The Fish won out because it hit all the marks!

We were not disappointed with our choice as our instincts didn’t let us down. The food and drinks were excellent and the view was awesome. There are two different restaurants at the fish, supposedly the upstairs is more formal and the bottom floor is more casual. We opted for the causal option on the porch/dock because…toddler in tow! Besides good food and drinks the service was also excellent. We had no complaints.

After dinner we took a walk to see the sights of Bemus Point. We ended up at a the “historic” Hotel Lenhart. This hotel has an amazing porch with lined with rockers looking out at the lake. We couldn’t pass up the opportunity to stop in and sit down for a spell. Turns out, this was the right decision because right inside the lobby there is a small bar serving drinks. Score! We opted to have a few beers and rock while enjoying the view. This hotel was a true throwback to another era, it did not have A/C and according to reviews on TripAdvisor many of the rooms have communal bathrooms. It is a great place to have a drink, but probably not some place we would choose to stay over night.

After drinks at the Hotel Lenhart we made our way back to the car to head back to the hotel. We decided to take in the sunset on the property’s large back patio area. We enjoyed few more drinks at the Carousel Bar.. It was such a beautiful evening to just sit and enjoy the views of the lake. As the sun set, we decided to head back to the room for another good nights sleep.

This was a fun relaxing weekend trip. We had fun seeing some classic sights from Rebekah’s childhood as well as checking out someplace new. On to the next adventure!!!
