According to their website, the Harbor Hotel is “located on the southeastern shores of Chautauqua Lake in the village of Celoron, NY, Chautauqua Harbor Hotel brings a new level of luxury accommodations and world-class service to western New York.” It, “offers you supreme comfort and a wealth of modern amenities making it the perfect vantage point from which to explore everything this region has to offer.” Based on our experience, the website is spot on when it comes to describing this hotel.

Check-In: There is a large covered area to park when you are unloading/loading your car, but no valet. Upon entering the lobby it is clean and well appointed. The best part is the view of the lake and the outdoor bar area that greet you as soon as you walk in. The desk agents were friendly and helpful. They provided plenty of information regarding the property and things to do. Since we were arriving later in the evening with toddler in tow, we called prior to our arrival to make sure there was a pack-in-play in our room. Brooke, who checked us in, ensured that it was already up in the room.

Amenities: The amenities at this hotel were all first class. There is an indoor and outdoor pool, large fitness center with plenty of weights and machines, a putting green, onsite dining, fire pits and a bar outside by the lake, and plenty of chairs to enjoy the lake view. In addition, the room had very nice toiletries, and there was coffee station on every floor. In our opinion, the only thing it was missing was a hotel shop. We love to be able to get a small souvenir of our stay at a place like this.

Rooms: The rooms are clean and visually appealing when you first come in. Things we love: high quality linens on the beds/towels, spacious bathroom layout, desk area that could double as a vanity/makeup area, nice toiletries, and super clean. Things we like less: The bed was a little hard for Ben’s taste and for families with littles, there was no bathtub.
Dining: Upon arrival we ate at the main restaurant. We love to sit outside and they accommodated us. We enjoyed a lovely view of the lake while dining. We were greeted with a bowl of delicious bread. Even the olive bread was good and neither of us typically care for that type of bread. The server was wonderful. They noticed that it was late and we had a toddler so they brought Roseanne’s food out right away. Ben probably liked his fish and shrimp more than Rebekah liked her steak. For what its worth, Roseanne loved her grilled cheese and ice cream sundae 🙂 We had a slice of pie for dessert and it was great!
Ambiance/Decor: Most importantly, this hotel focused on its best asset: the lake. All the decor was complimentary to the lake site, and more importantly, the architecture revolved around the lake and how beautiful it is. We felt that everything in this hotel was nice and modern. There were old historic pictures of the lake and attractions in the area which we thought added a nice touch. Also important to note was the hotel’s overall cleanliness.

Hotel Lobby
Customer Service: Every we met was super friendly. My only customer service complaint would involve the bar. The bartenders were not super friendly and they were slow. They stated there was no drink menu and did not give any drink suggestions. I find it hard to believe that this hotel did not have a drink menu. Also when we tried to order a pizza to our room they would not bring it. We thought this was weird because we saw them deliver pizzas earlier in the evening.
We had a great stay at this hotel, we highly recommend it if you are ever in this part of New York.
